Winter Snow and Ice Safety Reminder

Daytime Operations:
103 Avenue – 113 Street to 117 Street
105 Avenue – 98 Street to 106 Street
103 Avenue – 112 Street to 111 Street
105 Avenue – 111 Street to 117 Street
Sidewalk tractor – clearing sidewalks throughout the town
Sanding truck – focusing on the service road and 101 Avenue

Nighttime Operations:
Back alleys – 110 Street east to 106 Street
Hauling snow – 104, 105, and 103 Avenue

Due to recent heavy snowfall, crews have been prioritizing emergency, bus, and main routes. The town is working to reach other avenues and streets as soon as possible.

Town crews and contractors are working in the following areas today:

102 Avenue – crews are actively working and hauling snow.
• Crews will also be working on:
103 Avenue between 111 Street and 108 Street
102 Avenue between 111 Street and 108 Street
104 Avenue between 111 Street and 109 Street
105 Avenue between 111 Street and 109 Street

Street blading of 101 Avenue and the service roads will be completed today.

Snow hauling will take place on 101 Avenue between 111 Street and 113 Street, and crews will also be working in the downtown area tonight.

Snow plowing will be beginning in North View and Country View Estates.

📌 Important Reminder:
• Only the primary driveway will be cleared by PW crews.
Property owners are responsible for clearing windrows from any additional driveways.

Please ensure vehicles are removed from the roadways to allow crews to work safely and efficiently.

To allow Public Works crews to safely and efficiently complete snow removal, residents are reminded to remove parked vehicles from roadways during snowplowing and snow hauling operations.

Parking vehicles on streets can delay or prevent snow removal.

Please note that this is enforced under Traffic Bylaw 965TR2010:

Section 18.1: No person shall park a vehicle on any highway so as to obstruct snow ploughing or snow loading operations, or otherwise interfere with traffic flow.
Section 26.3: No person shall allow or create an obstruction to any highway under the direction, management, and control of the Town.

Congratulations to the Newly Elected Council

The Town of Fairview extends its sincere congratulations to the newly elected members of Council following the municipal election held on October 20, 2025.

  • Christopher Laue – Incumbent – 201 votes
  • Lloyd Campbell – 184 votes
  • Erin Sawchuk – 170 votes
  • Jo Anne Fleming – Incumbent – 162 votes
  • Andrew Pietsch – 140 votes
  • Stanley Golob – Incumbent – 134 votes

At the close of Election Day, the above candidates were declared elected to the office of Councillor.

The following candidates did not receive the votes required to be elected to Council, therefore have received No Appointment

  • Trisha James – 130 votes
  • Amanda Golob – 106 votes

The Town of Fairview congratulates Mayor MacLeod and all members of Council on their appointments and thanks all candidates for their commitment to serving the community. Appreciation is also extended to residents who participated in the election and contributed to Fairview’s democratic process.
